With the summer holidays approaching, take the opportunity to visit the Convento do Espinheiro. Located 10 minutes from the center of Évora, it has a vast treasure trove of places at your disposal.

What you can see in Évora

If you want to experience the beauty of this place, start your day with a magnificent stroll through the Jardim da Diana . A place where you will have the pleasure of observing the landscape over the city. Take some time for yourself, to relax as much as you need. From the same viewpoint, located in front of this garden, you will find the Roman Temple , one of the most emblematic symbols of the Roman presence in Portuguese territory.

Take a short five-minute walk to visit Rua Cinco de Outubro , a local shopping street where you can find regional products and artisanal products. Walking a little further, you will find the symbolic Praça do Giraldo , named after Geraldo Geraldes (the main frontiersman of the Alentejo), who conquered the city from the Moors. While you are in this area, head to the unique Igreja de São Francisco , characterized by its Gothic-Manueline architecture.

If you have the opportunity, visit the Capela dos Ossos , still one of the best-known monuments in Évora.

If you want to enjoy a little more tranquility, visit the Évora Public Garden . This is where you can observe the magnificent diversity of plants that exist.

Finally, this city still has at least two important landmarks that you will have to visit. The first is the Frei Manuel do Cenáculo National Museum , better known as the Évora Museum, created in 1915. Its aim is to house Roman collections that were part of the city's historical landmarks.
